Mr. Eduardo J. Escasany is the Chairman of Grupo Financiero Galicia. Since 2004 he has served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Grupo Sadesa, which supplies about 20% of the electric power of Argentina.

Mr. Escasany was the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Banco Galicia, one of the largest private sector banks in Argentina, between October 1989 and March 2002. He joined the Bank in 1973, and was elected as Vice-Chairman of the bank in August 1979.

Mr. Escasany was the Chairman of Banco de Galicia (Uruguay), and Vice-Chairman of Galicia Capital Markets. He was also the Chairman of BANELCO, the leading electronic banking joint venture in Argentina. He served as the President of ABA (Asociación de Bancos de la Argentina). He was also a member of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange and the Argentine Business Council. Between 1996 and 1999, he was the Director of the Institute of International Finance.

Born in Buenos Aires in 1950, Mr. Escasany graduated in 1973 with a degree in Economics from the Argentine Catholic University, Buenos Aires. He is married with five children.
